Javier Bardem: “Israel Kills. America Pays. Europe Supports.”

According to cinemadrame news agency, Oscar-winning Spanish actor Javier Bardem has condemned Israel’s attacks on Palestine for the umpteenth time. Hours ago, he posted a video on Instagram of a Palestinian man holding his son and crying out, urging “decent people” not to remain silent in the face of this slaughter and siege.

The “Dune” actor wrote: “Israel kills. America pays. Europe supports. Only we, decent people, are left to condemn this genocide! Don’t be silent! Otherwise, you are complicit.

Bardem has supported Palestine several times in recent months. Last month, he attacked Israel with such strong language on ABC’s “The View” that producers were forced to cut to a commercial break.

He criticized the United States’ and Europe’s support for Israel’s “impunity” in its assault on Gaza, stating: “The situation in Gaza has reached a point where I cannot express the suffering that I and millions of other people experience daily by watching the horrific images of children being murdered and starved.”

Bardem reminded that several Holocaust survivors and human rights experts consider Israel’s attacks a genocide: “And if you ask my opinion, I believe it is a genocide, why? Firstly, because of the impunity granted to Israel to commit it, and the lack of action by all governments, and of course the financial and military support from the United States, as well as Europe’s silence, has created a scenario where if we do nothing about it, we will move towards… these very events that are unfolding.”

Bardem had previously stated that Israel has no goal other than to destroy Palestinian history and culture: “This is a human rights issue beyond religion and politics. It must be resolved, and it is best resolved through justice – through the prosecution of those responsible.”

In another interview with Variety, he said that people are watching “4K quality genocide” every day: “In Gaza, thousands of children are dying of hunger. And this is a genocide unfolding before our eyes in 4K quality.”

Before Bardem, other artists including Hans Zimmer, Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Bob Dylan, NF, Green Day, and Bono, Andrew Garfield, Liam Cunningham, Susan Sarandon, Melissa Barrera, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Maisie Williams, Jenna Ortega, Nicola Coughlan, Aimee Lou Wood, Rachel Zegler, Mark Ruffalo, and John Cusack, as well as filmmakers Jonathan Glazer and Pedro Almodóvar, had also expressed support for Palestine.
